MARCH 2004
Check back for the latest information on DIGITAL DEADWOOD, including press coverage, launch dates, promotions and more.
31 March 2004: If you're having technical problems with DIGITAL DEADWOOD, make sure you've updated your browser to the newest possible version. We've successfully tested this site on the latest Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Mozilla, Opera and Firefox.
29 March 2004: Chat is operational, although we'll continue to tweak it over the next week or two. Our new feature this week will be customized avatars - you'll have to give up Wild Bill, but you'll have control over your character's skin color, clothing, and more! In the next two weeks you can expect some building interiors complete with slot machines and blackjack tables.
26 March 2004: We will be testing the chat feature today and over the weekend, so don't be surprised if you see some fellow Digital Deadwood users wandering around and talking to each other. We're aware of a number of minor bugs that still need to be worked out (that's why we're testing), but if you experience any major problems (like crashes that you weren't experiencing before) please e-mail us at info@digitaldeadwood.com. Otherwise, enjoy chatting with other users!
25 March 2004: In preparation for the chat feature, we've added a username display below your avatar. Chat should be up sometime between tomorrow and Monday morning. Next on tap are skin tones, clothing, and other items to further customize your avatar; look for those in about a week.
24 March 2004: There are now over 300 registered users of DIGITAL DEADWOOD, and we're seeing upwards of 400 visits to the site each day - thanks for making us so popular so quickly! Of course, this means that we've had to up our bandwidth practically everyday. Remember to keep checking back - we're planning on launching real-time chat by Monday.
23 March 2004: On the home page you'll see a new bar that will allow you to access several new pages, including information on who we are and how you can get a hold of us.
22 March 2004: A number of visitors have written us e-mail with technical questions and queries about navigating DIGITAL DEADWOOD. We've posted an FAQ page to help, so please check it out if you're having trouble with the site. If you can't find your answer there, be sure to let us know at info@digitaldeadwood.com. Be sure to check back later this week when we bring the real-time chat capability online!
19 March 2004: We're online a day early! Just use the Join Here! link to set up an account and get yourself registered. Keep in mind that this is a beta version and we're still hammering out technical problems, so bear with us. Our sister site, Deadwood HistoryLink, also launched today. Please feel free to poke around and send us some feedback.
17 March 2004: If you're in the northern Black Hills region, check out the features on DIGITAL DEADWOOD in today's Black Hills Pioneer and Northern Hills Journal. If you can't get your hands on a hard copy, you can check out the Pioneeer's story online by clicking here, and you can read the Journal's story by clicking here.
16 March 2004: Welcome to the NEWS page, where you'll find regularly updated items relating to DIGITAL DEADWOOD. We'll keep an updated list of current and upcoming features in the column to the right, so remember to check back often. Don't forget to check out our DOWNLOADS page, too.
