28 May 2004: Wild Bill's ghost is now where he's supposed to be - up on Mount Moriah by his grave! Give him a visit if you have time. Maybe you can even help him out with something? On separate matter, thanks to an arrangment with our new host, you should never see a bandwidth limit screen again. As always, if you experience a problem with Digital Deadwood, don't hesitate to e-mail us.
27 May 2004: If you tried to access the site earlier this afternoon, you would have noticed somthing - or more accurately, nothing. Due to an incredible increase in visitation over the past week, we reached our bandwidth limit! We're currently working with our host to make sure it doesn't happen again. Our humblest apologies.
26 May 2004: Mount Moriah is now active! To visit Deadwood's famous boot hill graveyard, pull up the map screen and click on "To Mount Moriah Cemetery" text in the corner. There is only one screen for now, but others will follow. HistoryLink text on Mount Moriah and Ingleside is also coming soon.
25 May 2004: We've made some changes to make seeing the other side of the street simpler. To cross the street, all you need to do is hit the "Flip" button at the bottom of the compass - it's that easy! Let us know if you've got questions, and don't forget to check out the FAQ.
24 May 2004: Check out our new interior at the Old Style Saloon #10! We've been thinking about giving away prizes to help promote DIGITAL DEADWOOD. We could do ye olde logo shirts, but we thought we'd get your ideas! Anything reasonable (read: not a trip to Tahiti) you'd like to see us give away? Sound off!
21 May 2004: Another building entrance should go live today! But since it's a part of our first quest game, you'll have to find it yourself... maybe someone in DIGITAL DEADWOOD can tell you where it is?
20 May 2004: Ever wonder what Deadwood looked like in the 1870s? Keep your eyes peeled for time portals, coming soon!
19 May 2004: Two new features were activated last night. You can now use the map feature to WARP to any location in the DIGITAL DEADWOOD environment! Additionally, you can log in without worrying about the case of your e-mail address or password. E-mail us if you have any questions!
18 May 2004: We now have almost 900 registered users! Thanks to everyone for making DIGITAL DEADWOOD so successful. Remember - we are continually adding new features!
17 May 2004: What sorts of improvements and new features would you like to see Digital Deadwood add next? LET US KNOW! In the meantime, keep your eyes open for Mount Moriah, Wild Bill's ghost and the complete quest!
13 May 2004: A great big thank you to everyone who participated in our test at 4 PM MDT yesterday! We identified several new bugs to add to the list - but that was the point. On the bright side, we've fixed a number of old bugs over the past week, and added new features - including NPCs (non-player characters). Now you can cruise around town and talk to Calamity Jane, Potato Creek Johnny and more!
6 May 2004: We sent out our first update e-mail message to registered Digital Deadwood users today! If you didn't get one, it's probably because you checked the NO box to our mailing list option when you registered. Send us an e-mail if you'd like to subscribe yourself!
5 May 2004: We've added a number of interface tweaks this week, including new buttons on the lower control bar and a new map, which will be functional soon! If you have problems getting these to display, try clearing the cache on your browser. It depends on what program you're using, but typically you have to access your Options or Preferences, usually from the Edit or Tools menu bar. Check under your Privacy or Advanced tabs for a button that says Clear Cache or Delete Temporary Internet Files.
4 May 2004: Check out our HistoryLink section - we're adding more entries everyday! Is there a Deadwood person, place or event that you'd like to see on our list? Let us know!
3 May 2004: Double shot! In addition to the great article in the New York Times on Friday, Deadwood is featured twice in today's USA Today - check out the stories ("Namesake," "Cussing") online. In other news, you can expect some real changes to DIGITAL DEADWOOD this week - say goodbye to bugs like chat ghosts and zombies and hello to a functional map, Mount Moriah, navigational rollovers and more!
